Strategies you can use right now
When we’re affected by ACEs and toxic stress as children, our “fight, flight, or freeze” response may be dysregulated, even as adults.
If you sometimes find yourself panicked, have trouble breathing, or notice your heart racing and you’re not sure why those things are happening, it may be a result of a stress response system that’s out of balance.
The good news is that there are steps we can take to help regulate these systems and bring ourselves back into balance.
