We all have a unique story. Yet we’re not alone. Nearly two-thirds of us have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
We partnered with Get Lit, a Los Angeles-based arts education nonprofit, to give voice to five talented high school poets, introduced by celebrities they admire. In the videos below, they share original works about their experiences with childhood adversity.
Writing poetry is one way we can explore our own experiences. Hearing poetry helps us find connection through others’ words. No matter where you are right now, we hope one of these young poets’ stories resonates with you and helps you pause, take a deep breath, and reflect on the power of your story too.
